April was so excited on Tuesday night. She had invited a
friend of hers, Josh Collins. to go with her to Church
for a
special drama ..He went forward at the invitation at
“Heaven's Gates, Hell's Flames”.
He went out
that night inviting all his friends to come back Wednesday
night.
He even went out and bought a Christian CD. He asked his
family to go to church with him Sunday. He also went to
work the next two days telling all that he had gotten saved.
He and April and some friends were to get together tonight
to watch a Christian Video. (Friday Mar 17,2000)
This morning Josh rolled his truck in the river. The river is
full and the water is running real fast. They haven't found
his body yet. I went out to the river earlier today and
prayed with the mom and dad. They were so thankful to
hear that he got saved
Tuesday, His dad said that some of the first witnesses on
the scene said that the new Christian CD was still playing
in his truck when they got to it. The mother wanted us to
pray that they would find Josh or the body. She said if they
found the body that she at least knew that he would be in
Heaven. They found Josh's body a little while ago. Please
pray for the family and that many will come to Jesus as a
result of this. At
least we know Josh is in heaven.
This was an email I sent out Friday morning March 17.
Saturday the family asked if I would do the funeral at our
church since Josh got saved there Tuesday.
Sunday night at the funeral there was the largest
attendance ever in our town. About 1500 came out. Everyone
was talking about how Josh had gotten saved at the drama
just days before. Many
pastors told me of how they
mentioned this at their churches that morning and many
more were saved. I
preached at our church Sunday and
mentioned it and the altars were full.
The funeral was so packed that our church was full, and the
foyer was full and about 50 outside. I gave an invitation at
the funeral and several responded. At the graveside one of
our high school teachers came to me and said that a number
of students had come and told him that they too had gotten
saved at the drama.
I got a call today from a Sheriff in a neighboring county
who was at the funeral who wants me to speak at a youth
rally there.
The Lord had Josh come to “Heaven's Gates and Hell's
Flames” just in time and now his testimony is causing an
ongoing witness and salvation to those who will respond to
the message. Please pray for us that God will continue to
move in our area, and that the family will be comforted and
strengthened.
